March 6th

I cannot believe my baby boy is already one. The time literally has flown by. He has so much personality and everyone falls instantly in love with him. He has charisma oozing out of him. He knows so much already! March 6th was his FIRST BIRTHDAY!!! It was a Tuesday so we had a small family dinner at Cracker Barrell for him. He was not impressed with the cuisine but we were all pretty happy. Here are some pictures from his big day!

Spring has Sprung! In February......

Just a little post with some pictures of Jaxon's first play time outside! Note this was in early February. Also note his ADORABLE sandles. He's such a big boy!!!! :)

Febru-any!

The title is dedicated to subway due to the fact that it is februany! I LOVE $5 subs. We pretty much only get them when they have those deals.

Other than that we are gearing up for Jaxon's birthday party. Anyone is invited (invites have not been send out yet) so if you want to show up, it is on March 17th at 2:00 pm. It's candyland themed and I am so excited for him! I love doing stuff for him and I cannot wait to see his face when he see's all his candy.

I also can't wait for Valentine's Day. Were not doing much since its on a tuesday. We are doing a big date night this weekend though. I am most excited about staying in a hotel and getting 8 hours of sleep!!!!!! That's pretty sad, but we are both so excited to have some alone time. Jaxon shares a room with us so we really don't get much even when he's asleep.

If anyone has good date ideas for our time were in Lexington we'd really appreciate some ideas!!

Our Jack Attack

Well, it's been FOREVER since I blogged and realize some people actually read this thing so I thought I'd update on our lives.

I've enrolled in an online program to become a Medical Transcription Editor. I'm doing ok so far and looking forward to be trained in a career I can do from home. David also is training to do his Cisco Certifications and is all lined up to do a pretest, follow-up study course, and then the actual test! So exciting!

Jaxon is getting huge! He's 29 lbs so far and walking EVERYwhere. He took his first steps at 9 1/2 months but it took him a good 2-3 weeks to get really good at it. He hasn't slowed down and hardly ever crawls.

He loves phones and will put almost anything up to his ear to pretend it is a phone. This has taken the place of his hair brush obsession that he's had the last 2 months. He will also "Heddo" if he puts anything up to his ear. He loves the dog as well as books. I swear if we could train the dog to read, I would never see my son. He can even turn the pages all by himself!

Birds are very interesting to him and he will looks around for his "bir!". He can also say, "bah bah" which is dog (like bark bark), mama, dada, nana, book, moo and a few times has said papaw.

David's grandma just passed away and we all got to go to Ohio to see family as well as friends. It was sad circumstances but it was great to catch up and feel the love of all the people close to the family and his grandmother. She would have been so happy with how everything turned out.

Were also looking for houses and hoping to move in the spring or summer. We don't really have a time in mind but it's exciting to look at available houses! That's pretty much our life for now. I'll do better updating. Oh, here are some pictures:

buh bye!

Jaxon has been perfecting his pageant wave as well as clapping the last few months and loves to show off at almost any one who looks in his direction! Last weekend we discovered that if you say "YAY!" he will clap. Today we also notice that when you say "Buh-Bye" he waves! He's hilarious because he totally stops whatever he is doing, waves, and then starts back up with whatever he was doing!

I know it's little but it was so cute. He is also has discovered splashing and how to push open our bedroom door (that doesn't latch). He is adorable!

Nothing much is new except I'm looking into becoming a medical transcriptionist. It would allow me to work AND stay home which would be absolutely great! I'm just looking into it at this point but it's looking promising!

Perfect Dinner

Does anyone else look on their Pinterest and make their dream dinner? I never have all the stuff in my kitchen to make things on a whim (our kitchen is SUPER SUPER tiny, with no storage) but here is what I would consider a perfect night:

Appetizer - Zucchini Oven Chips

Main - Chicken Gyros

Dessert - Dr. Pepper Cupcakes w/ butterbeer to drink

I would probably have a heart attack after this meal but what a way to go!!!!!

FIRST WORDS!

So Jaxon has always been a "talker". He is one of those babies who loves to hear the sound of his voice. Even when he was a newborn the whole time he was awake, asleep, eating, or anything he was constantly making noise. He has mastered many sounds. He had ba, da, ra, ga, go, do, dob, bob, etc.

About a week and a half ago, he started saying mamamamama. I figured it was just a new sound even though my heart jumped when he started because you dream your whole life of hearing that sound. I figured at first he didn't know what he was doing, just making noise like usual. Then I started noticing that when I left the room instead of whining he would go "MoM.... mama... mom!!" and I got a little suspicious.

I asked my friend when I went to her house what she thought as he was making the sounds. She said she thought he knew what he was saying because he was looking right at me while he was in the jumper she had at her house and saying "Mama!".

Then finally the other day, daddy was holding him and he was being quiet. He looked right at me, reached out his arms to me and said "Mama" and smiled.

YAY!!!

He has recently started saying "dada" but I don't think he has connected it with David just yet. For now, I am very happy that he knows who I am and that I have a name. It is so sweet to hear his little voice say "mama".
