Nosy Neighbors

When we first moved into our current rental house, I was so excited to be living in such an amazing house for such an amazing price and it was in a great location as well! The first week our neighbor helped us till up the dirt in the front garden area so we could plant flowers. Our other neighbors gave Jax a super cute motorcycle toy that he just loves. We have had continually good experiences with the neighbors to our right (who we knew before we moved in) and our neighbors to the left were okay.

Unfortunately they do have very loud grandchildren that come over 3-5+ times a month and are just crazy. I try to be pretty open minded about how people should raise their kids but these children are just obnoxious. They are always yelling, and the grandmother is no better. I can rely on her to regularly shout ALL the way down the street for one of them or yelling threats at all of them. They always have a ton of cars parked on the street and in front of our house but we never say anything. They also have very loud UK game parties where they leave their doors open and we can literally hear all details of the game because their TV is so loud.

Now the reason I am listing their offenses is because I am ticked. This loud lady had the nerve to come to MY house today (knocking obnoxiously loud of coarse) and say that my dog barking was driving them crazy. I hear the dog barking as well but she has been outside MAYBE two minutes. She said they can't even go in their backyard anymore? I'm sorry, but that confuses me. You have a PRIVACY fence, why would you feel that you can't go into your yard? She's not going to jump the fence and eat your shoes, she just is loud occasionally, like her grandchildren.

She continued to say that this goes on for hours at a time and they just couldn't keep it to themselves. Myah is only outside maybe 45 minutes throughout the day. Usually, we put her outside, let her pee, and bring her in. Unless there are guests, she's inside! I just don't know what to do. Sure she barks. Yes it's annoying (we hear it more than her for SURE). She is also not the only yappy dog in the neighborhood. You have to block things out if your going to live around people!

I guess it annoys me that the only time she has come to my house is to complain. Maybe you should have come to my house and welcomed us. Said hi when we were all playing outside in the front lawn. Maybe brought cookies and left them in the mailbox with a note about the dog so you don't come off as rude and overbearing. This incident actually made me want to move!

I guess I should be grateful she let me know and didn't call the cops for a noise complaint or something, but maybe your should teach your grandkids some manners or get out of a neighborhood environment where your GOING to get noise from other people's kids, dogs, cats, cars, etc. Maybe next time her kids come over I should "have a talk" with her about her tyrant grandchildren keeping my son awake at night and how he can't even go in his room anymore (sounds pretty dumb doesn't it). But I won't... I'll just vent it on here and keep the dog in. Because that's what NEIGHBORS do!

Applying for Jobs is a full time job

Well it's been a couple weeks since we found out about David's layoff. I have discovered there really is no nice way of saying your husband lost your job. What's funny is I have never felt panicked. I know our time with this company is limited (as our the paychecks) but I can't help but feel there is something better waiting for us. There are changes we've made financially just in case things don't work out as quickly as we would like, but I have always felt peaceful about the future.

David had an interview with Fayette Co. Schools for an IT position and was extremely excited about it!  He really felt like he was going to get it and was very confident that he would get it. He got a call back a week ago and it turns out he didn't get the job. He was pretty discouraged but we got out of the house and tried to make the best of that night.

Since then he has found lots more jobs he is excited about. Most pay more and have much better opportunities for moving up. I really feel like this is a step in the right direction for us. I feel like this is a time that Heavenly Father is really leading us in the right direction. Hopefully we'll know something more soon!

Jax is doing well. I can't believe he is a year and a half old! I felt so bad that we didn't even celebrate (or realize) until it was too late. I still gave him an ice cream bar the day I realized but didn't feel like I made up for it. He is starting to run EVERYWHERE and is pretty fast! He is also a huge mimic still. Today he was saying "breath", "crazy", "Ssshhh", and a billion other things but those were the cutest. I love him so much I want to have 20 of him! The Duggars are starting to not look so crazy :)
