Snow

So last night everyone was talking about snow and david and i had NO food in the house. So we went out to walmart to get a couple things. Also my friend Karen from highschool was coming to town so i had to get some food for when she came. Annyways walmart was CRAZY. We managed to get a pretty good parking spot and went in. WALL TO WALL people. We were expecting all kinds of snow after seeing the frenzy of people.

when we woke up this morning to let our little myah outside david came in smiling and i new it had to be pretty out there. I kept sleeping but myah woke me up once again at 9 wanting to go outside again and when i went to chain her up i looked up and how beautiful were the mountains! I know there are really just big hills but they looked like something out of a movie. Actually they looked much better. They were already covered in snow, but also it was snowing which made the tops disappear in kind of a mist. It was so soft and pretty. i wish i had my camera (i left it at my sisters at thanksgiving) to take pictures and post! Maybe i'll try to use david's if we can find the memory card...

Applegate Update!!

So my sister notified me that i have not updated in over a month and honestly i have no excuse :) I do have great news though. David GRADUATED! I felt like it would never come but finally it has. I'm so excited about the possibilities. We have a job that we are PRAYING hard for (any help is welcome) but we will not know about that until after march probably. It is so exciting not knowing what is ahead of us but having so any options.

Right now david is taking some time off while i am still working. I'll be his sugar mama for a while since he will be supporting me the rest of my life (or so i hope). My main goal in life is to be a stay at home mom and although he has taken some coaxing most days he agrees that it would be great if we can manage everything financially. This job we are hoping to get would definatly take care of that for us and put us on the fast track to financial stability. Not gushing money but definatly more stable than we are now. It will be so exciting if this opportunity works out.

Our anniversary was also the day after his graduation which made for a busy week. We stayed home since it was a sunday and just enjoyed time together. I made him steak, baked potatoes, and salad on steroids. OH! and sparkling cider. :) yum yum.

hope that does it for ya jessie. I will update after christmas and probably again after David and i make a trip with our great friends the Loesevitz' to New York for New years! Oh buddy i can't wait.

Crazy times in Crazy Places

So today was defiantly a blogworthy day. It was INSANE around the office. Let's see... where to start, where to start...

First i was in a bad mood. My boss said something and although he meant well it got under my skin. We had a meeting in the morning and i was SURE i was going to get fired. The only meeting i've been to someone almost got fired so i was for SURE iwas getting fired. Well i didn't, and actually they brought me in there to discuss things that would help me do my job :)

Second we had a CRAZY man come in. Literally 7 feet tall. He started telling me this story about how the shrink wrap we use to wrap our SOTP (Sex Offenders Treatment Program) Manuals ate through is brand new harley davidson shirt and pants! For real? You REALLY think we are going to believe that?

So i ask the boss what to do and he gave him the manufacturer's number. The guy got mad and brought the shirt in, had me RUB the shirt with the shrink wrap and said he was going to come back in an hour and show me what it did. Me, thinking he's crazy rubbed it on my LACE shirt and told him if it ate through either one we would pay him back. He came back two hours later and sure enough, both shirts were perfectly fine and sent him on his way. There is a first time for everything. We work with that all day everyday and have no problems.

Third I went shopping at walmart, and usually i falter. I get distracted and by all the things i don't need to buy and then get to tired to buy/remember to buy all the things we need. Especially if i'm on the phone. However, today i was talking to my sister and bought everything we needed on the list AND quite a few cheap but great suprises for david. All of our groceries (including ribs, hamburger, and chicken) were $70 and i did it in twenty minutes! a pretty good cartful!

Fourth, i rented TWO red box movies david and i have been DYING to see. "UP" and "Ice Age, Dawn of the Dinosaurs.

Fifth. I wrote this blog without re-doing it five times!

Today, dispite all the crazy things that happened and the hectic day we had at work i feel so greatful that i have a great home to come home to and such awesome people in my life. Thanks to my love, support system, and best friend David for all that he does. My sister for making me an efficient shoppes (and human being) . And all my friends for all they do for me :)

Whoops!

So last monday was a pretty typical day. Work, dinner, relaxing, talking to my sister. Then David decided he would take myah out, and a few minutes later i hear my name. Kind of odd considering you don't need much help to sit there while your dog runs around on her leash, but i go outside and see david on all fours in the wet FREEZING cold grass asking me to take the dog.

I immediately think that she has jumped on him and had some bad aim, if you know what i mean. So i put the puppy inside and go to get him but he will not move or tell me what's wrong. Apparently, as he told me about twenty minutes later when we finally get him over the car port step and up the steps to our house, he went to hop off the porch and landed in a pot hole created by our little ball of mischief herself!

My poor husband's ankle was HUGE! We figured it wasn't broken but it was sprained pretty good. We had a friend get us some crutches and gave him some pain medicine but the rest of the week everything was on me.

You really don't realize how much of a team effort marriage is until you have to do everything yourself. Cooking, cleaning, shopping, taking the dog in and out, getting him drinks, ice, fixing his bandages, and everything! I am SOOOOOOO thankful that he is back in business (more or less) and able to help me with everything again!

He really couldn't stand the crutches and tried to get off them as soon as he could. Not because he was trying to be tough but he has a pinched nerve and it effects his right arm (shooting pains, tingling, numbness, etc) which happens to be the sprained ankle side too.

I need to start taking better care of this poor guy! Pictures to come

Breakin in the hubby

So i cannot believe that is has been almost 11 months since we got married! It seems so quick. The last couple months have ZOOMED by. I was a little scarred before we got married, not about marriage to david, but just marriage in general. Everyone says the first year is the hardest and that there are a lot of trials and getting used to one another. I haven't seen ANY of that luckily. Being married to David is the easiest, most natural thing in my life. I know there will be hard times in the future but i just thank Heavenly Father everyday for my relationship with David and our time together. He really is great. Lately he's been cooking dinner for me that's ready when i get home! It is such a relief to come home and not have to worry about what to make and what we have and all that stuff.

We were going to go away for our anniversary, but it's on a sunday and he graduates that saturday, so a staycation it is! Any ideas on a way to make it extra special in light of his graduation AND our anniversary would be great! I'm really out of ideas at this point. Or shall i say, have too many to chose from :) I can't WAIT!

Nesting

So it is only october and i am already in move out mode. I'm ready to go! We still have no idea where we are going with david's job but this MUST be what nesting is like. I just get excited easily, there is no bun in the oven, but it is all i can do to not pack all of our things. David applied for our number one job last week and we won't hear from them for a while, but we could be going anywhere. I am so excited about that! We could be going anywhere from Oregan, to Tennessee, to Maine, to Lexington. The possibilities are endless, and that is what is fun. I can't WAIT!! I'll try to keep this updated on the plans...

Quick Update

So not much is happening in our little lives. David is finishing up school and looking into multiple job opportunities (thank goodness!). We are pretty excited that he has options, even though we have our favorites. I know i am especially excited for him to get done with college because then i get to go! I'm looking into a few different options, but if you have any random recommendations they more then welcome! I'm so indesicive.
Myah is growing up (rather not growing) quickly. She is a crazy puppy but SO calm for a lab. She is such a sweet little girl and we are so happy she didn't turn into a full sized lab. In hind sight a big dog in a small house wasn't a great idea, but she's small so were ok.
Were just excited for new adventures coming up in our lives and can't wait for the change. Can't wait to see where life takes us!

let them eat cake!!

Nothing really big to blog about today. I was just uploading some pictures off my blackberry (that our lovely myah recently ATE while i was in the shower) and saw these pictures of a diaper cake that i made for a guy at work. i was so proud of it and thought it was pretty good for my first one. Although after i made it i got all kinds of tips on how to make the better/easier, so i'll save that for next time.

burning down the house

So appearantly I am really trying to burn our poor little house down. Today i was trying to warm up some soup (which i prefer to do on the stove so i can add spices and just extra things) and turned on the burner and was talking on the phone with one of my friends. I was going to go check on things because something smelled funny and smoke was pooring from the stove. So i jump up to check things, and i had the wrong burner on... the one i had thrown the towel i was drying dishes with earlier. i was so scared! i was home by myself, and the house was filling with smoke! myah was running around the house hysterical and the smoke detector started going off. i got it under control and fanned the smoke detectors and everything was fine.

This reminds me of a similar spaghetti incident that happened about a month ago. except there were flames involoved with that one! oh well, what's the worse that could happen? oh yeah, a FIRE!

ocean's blue

so david has always had this little trick to remember alot of his passwords and pin numbers and he taught it to me. He always says Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1642 (number had been changed to save our current bank account balance) and it worked for him. It seems like everytime i hear that story the year changes so i never paid attention to the numbers and contently punched in the correct combonation as told.

Well I was watching TV and the mini wheat commercial popped up. I love those little wheat guys but wasn't really paying attention because i was on the internet and i hear the one where this little boy is studying for his history test and the rhyme about columbus comes up. "Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492" I looked over at david and cracked up! We were only a few centuries off :) we had a pretty good laugh about it...

Introducing: Myah Applegate

Our adorable lab mix puppy, Myah. Appearantly we spelled her name wrong but we didn't know how to spell it and that's how it came out. She is so adorable. we got her when she was 3 weeks old (we know WAY too early but that's when she was given to us by her neive owner) and she is now almost 4 months! I finally told david it was either a puppy or a baby. Needless to say which one he picked. jk, i would LOVE a baby, but patience is key at this point. Anyways, this is my temporary baby. So adorable!!!

she LOVES to cuddle in the car

my dad gave her a bone and she didn't quite know what to do :)

Brudder

So my brother is in the navy and stationed in Pennsylvania and doesn't get many vacantion days, but he usually comes down for christmas and his birthday (april 3rd) and is in town! He's here for over a week and will be staying for easter festivities. He ventured over to morehead and is staying with us a night to see our house and hang out with us. It's really nice that we have a house with two rooms so we can have guests :) i love it! i also made beef and noodles which my grandmother used to make and it's super yummy. i did pretty ok! David and Bobby are really liking the man to man time because bobby is stuck in a house with three girls this week and and david is usually stuck with me :)

Also, I wanted to talk a little about myah (our lab puppy) and her chewing phase. She has destroyed (and i am listing so i dont' have to go into detail of each story)

-five pairs of megean's shoes
-an 8 pack of paper towels (the good kind too!)
-and entire rope toy
-water bottles
-toilet paper
-toilet paper rolls
-our coffee table
-our banana/gammer chair
-three internet cables
-the fan cords
-multiple pee pads

and is currently chewing on the keyboard (or attempting). She is so sweet though and learning to chew on bones thankfully! I wouldn't trade her in for anything. I love her so much and she is just so tiny and sweet. even if david wants to trade her in for brutus

i love to see the temple....

So this weekend was really awesome. I got to get off work early for one thing. for another i got to go to the temple! I went with my sister and got to see one of my friends from the ward and her husband get their endowments. It was really cool to go back to the temple and to go with so many friends and family. Also after we got out of the temple we went to this place called "Red Robin" which is a really nice burger joint and it was SO good. The burgers were huge and the fries were bottomless so you got as many as you wanted. i defintaly recomend it. We also didn't get home until 2 am because it takes so stinking long to get home but it was very much worth it :)

maybe this is a sign....

so today is friday the 13th, and obviously david and i don't really care about that stuff, getting married on the 13th and all, but today kind of makes you think... I was so excited to come home because we had nothing to do the whole weekend. i could clean the house, catch up on laundry, and hang out with my honey! so i get home and david says he has a quiz to take, which is actually good news because i wanted to take a nap before going out together for a date night.

So i wake up about an hour and a half later and we get ready for dinner and go out. We got to a chineese buffet and spend $23 on food (which i HATED doing but david really wanted to and we were wanting it to be a special night) and we barely ate a whole plate of not very good food. Were sitting there talking and i ask him about how his quiz went. He said he couldn't take it because the internet wasn't working. Now if david, the computer networking major, can't get the computer to work something is wrong.

so i went home and looked at it (pretty laughable because i don't know anything about computers) and the ONLY page it would pull up was www.LDS.org

David looked at me and goes "Meg do you think that's a sign or something"

we got a pretty good laugh out of that :)

update!

So david and i FINALLY got our internet and cable hooked up. We tried to go as long as we could without it and be more productive with our time. However seeing as how the only thing to do in the wonderful town (or shall i say holler) of morehead KY is go to wal-mart, we finally caved seeing as you can only watch smallville so many times before going crazy.

David waited for the cable man (who actually was early) and made a mad dash to get dressed and everything cleaned up (he's a sleepy head). When he answered the door the installer informed him that he dropped the blocker that limits our channels so we are now getting internet, and 70 channels for the price of basic 20 channel cable! very nice :)

Also i made stroganough last night and was a little afraid of what he would think. He is more used to box dinners and drive through after college and its almost what he prefers. I LOVE to cook and experiment so i decided to go for it. Lucky me he LOVED it. He usually does even though he is cautious about it in the beginning. I also came home to david cleaning the WHOLE house yesterday. I mean he had all the chairs turned over on the table like a resturaunt and was sweeping and swifering (we have hard wood floors) and moved the couch to vacuum our rug and everything. he is SSSSOOOO great! *sigh*

Finally!!

I am sure there has been much anticipation as you have all waited for wedding pictures. Here is a small selection from the weekend. I am sure she will post more when she gets a chance.
Enjoy!
